olympic park schools receive consent
23 June 2016
Working with Balfour Beatty and Penoyre and Prasad architects, proposals for a new two-form entry primary school and six-form entry secondary school within the Olympic Park have received detailed planning consent.
Proposals for the two sites, located close to the Olympic Stadium, have been developed by the team in consultation with the David Ross Education Trust and the London Legacy Development Corporation to provide a design which responds to the wider context of the Olympic Park as well as meeting the particular educational vision of the Trust.
The design meets the challenges of two highly constrained sites, working to maximise the potential of landscape as a resource for pupils. The result is a scheme that provides a variety of flexible play and social spaces within a unified external environment as well as making the most of adjacent facilities in the Park.
This forms part of fabrik’s continuing work on the Olympic Park, with the team currently working on proposals for phase 2 of the East Wick and Sweetwater site.
