staff photography competition
23 December 2013
In celebration of fabrik’s 10th anniversary year we are launching a photography competition which is open to all members of staff.
Entries must feature completed fabrik projects in the UK, and be taken by the staff member submitting them.
There are 3 prizes up for grabs
1st prize – 3 days extra holiday in 2015
2nd prize – 2 days extra holiday in 2015
3rd prize – 1 day extra holiday in 2015
The more photographs you submit the greater your chance of winning!
The member of staff submitting photos of the most fabrik schemes will win a case of wine or cash if preferred.
All entries are to be submitted via email to Emily Hatcher by 1 August 2014.
Photographs are to be 2 – 10Mb and in jpeg format.
Landscape orientation is preferred.
Judging criteria:
• Content – highlighting the scope of the designed landscape.
• Composition and creativity
• Technique – focus, detail, depth, depth of field, colour, brightness, contrast, saturation, usage of light.
Competition entries will be judged by Johnny Rath, Naomi Burl and Richard Thomas, a landscape photographer from Alton.
Winners will be announced at the staff Christmas Party 2014.
Travel costs up to £250 maximum per member of staff, will be reimbursed if photography is taken outside fabrik working hours and in addition to regular site visits.
Permission must be sought to take photographs of schemes which are not open to the public, and this must be agreed in writing through the Project Landscape Architect or Naomi Burl.
Shots showing how people interact with the designed landscape would be great. Images must show people in suitable clothing and the focus should be on the setting or activity rather than the individual.
You will need to gain permission from the individuals featured within shots, and delete images in their presence with an apology if they object to their photo being taken.
By submitting a photograph, you permit fabrik to freely use, reproduce and redistribute the image, without payment, within practice publications, the website, emails and marketing material.
Photos used on fabrik’s website will be credited appropriately.
