build to rent schemes approved

22 January 2014

Two build-to-rent projects at Young Street and Hortensia Road have been granted planning consent.

The developments will transform a prominent corner off Kings Road and create a new residential development on the edge of one of London’s oldest squares. The innovative schemes provide 84 new homes, primarily for the private rented sector, through a combination of apartments, penthouses, family mews and town houses.

The developments are being promoted and will be managed by Grainger in a joint venture with the Council.

fabrik developed landscape proposals for both schemes including new open space, a communal roof terrace and doorstep play opportunities for children. Courtyards create physical and visual amenity space for residents whilst improving the aspect of existing properties overlooking the sites. Streetscape enhancements integrate the developments within their surroundings, providing visual links to neighbouring open spaces, improved pedestrian access, parking and cycle storage facilities.
