Complex green infrastructure proposals form the framework for development of a 2550 home new community to the west of Waterlooville. This includes a mosaic of ancient woodland, pasture and meadow, communal gardens, allotments, town park and a series of play spaces which combine to offer a variety of amenity provision across the 211 hectare site.
Importantly these proposals also form part of an integrated flood mitigation strategy. The restored River Wallington corridor and managed ditches across the site have been complemented by interconnecting swales, ponds, wetlands and rain gardens. All these elements have been designed to create a range of habitats which enhances local bio-diversity.
fabrik produced the landscape masterplan and provided input into the Design Codes in support of the development’s hybrid application, and are currently submitting reserved matters applications and developing construction packages.
